Hello Dear One,
Over the past few months I’ve been taking a self-development course and, when I met my coach, diligently gave myself homework. Things I know help. Plans I made for my own good. The trouble is that I consistently found myself not wanting to do them.
This led to a pretty big breakthrough for me: I don’t like rules. When someone expects me to do something I immediately don’t want to do it. Even, or maybe especially, when that person is me. So, my new homework became to do what I wanted: to live intuitively. This means listening to how I’m feeling and being flexible with how I challenge and support myself. It also means I ditch unhealthy expectations, especially around any ‘one thing’ I’ve decided might make myself feel or ‘be’ better.
I hope it helps. When we live more intuitively we allow space for life to happen. Things beyond our control are less likely to completely throw us. And, it’s more fun.
It's always possible to scrap unhelpful ideas and listen to yourself. Maybe you love rules and routine means you thrive. If not - why force it? If you’d rather not answer any of these prompts because you don’t like direction, I support that too. Do what you want to do. Notice how it feels.
Thanks for being here and being you.
All love,
Jo

Drop-In Workshops – April
There are two opportunities to write with me this month, it would be gorgeous to see you there.
I *so* relate to this - especially in therapy when I'm faced with things I don't want to answer or understand about myself, I get quite petulant because it's not what I think I want to do. Really love this prompt, thank you!
